But Fruit Bat and Kitty Cat love them. Or love the novelty of them.
To celebrate Fruit Bat's newly diagnosed asthma having done a great job during his appointment with the allergist yesterday, we stopped at McDonald's for lunch. We broke my rule of going only twice a month (we went just last week!! Eeek!) but J. is out of town, so what the heck.
I ordered the Happy Meals and mentioned to the cashier that my son doesn't like scary toys, like the skull thingy they tried to give us last time we were there.
She said, "Oh, these are just Hotwheels."
"Okay!" I chirped. "He likes Hotwheels."
She then proceeded thrust at us a most sinister and ugly vehicle:
Kitty Cat (who is TWO), got this meek little mouse:
Both of these toys will mysteriously vanish sometime in the next few days...

I just posted about this very thing, though we didn't get the boy toy -- well, actually from the looks of her she IS a boy toy, but that's a whole 'nother issue!

Yep - things sure have changed since when we were kids. That is one scary little "car". I'm scared of that toy (it has a face on it like that alien monster in Alien). It is a pretty green though. Good Lord!

Holy Cow! I had to go to my happy place after looking at those toys! I think you're right - they need to meet with a horrible accident!

I totally agree. We went to Mc D's yesterday. I was happy to see that they had the cute little cardboard boxes again. Usually they just seem to have the bags. Then I was horrified to find a plastic cockroach toy in my son's bag. It's supposed to be a toy from Bee Movie, but it is a really gross thing to put in a box with food. This is a fun toy for a kid to play with? My two year old son thought it was pretty funny.

We somehow missed out on the Limited Edition Whore On Wheels doll. Bummer.
