In the last two days we've gotten this many catalogues:
Hey, Lands End! You, Pottery Barn! Listen up, LL Bean. We don't need this freaking many of your catalogues. Nice try, slapping a pretty new cover on your ever-so-slightly reconfigured pages and passing it off as something unique and exciting, but I have news for you. We're wise to your tactics.
Do you think we have the memories of bars of soap? Do you think we'll spot your catalogue in the mail and ravage it excitedly, looking for the sweater we haven't seen since browsing your glossy pages two days prior? Don't you think that sending out, say, a single catalogue per season is sufficient? Imagine it. If we knew we were getting one and only one Sahalie or Coldwater Creek between September and Christmas we might be apt to actually SAVE it and reference it later. As it is now, we have to recycle the catalogues as fast as we get them lest we be buried alive.
Also, I know it's anything for a buck, but have you heard of our good friend, THE EARTH? Do you ever think about TREES? Or, perhaps, the toxicity of ink and the energy it takes to run printing presses?
Yeah, I didn't think so.
Want to declutter by declining some your catalogues? Go here.

Hey, I like your style. Thanks for the link. My recycle bin is always half full of catalogues. It is crazy.

That's fabulous! Lately I am all about hugging trees, turning off lights, saving water, I'm even thinking about trying cloth diapers. But this is an easy way to make a difference! I'm going to send that link to everybody I know. (And I'm not the type that sends out every hoax-y email warning people to look in their backseat before they get in the car at the mall.)

Our catalog deluge started with a trickle -- one day one catalog arrived. Two days later a few more. Yesterday we got 5 catalogs in the mail. So far we've only had one repeat, but I'm sure we'll see more soon.
Didn't check out the link yet, but I definitely will.

Holiday catalogs....meh.
Most come to our PO box, where are little village post office has kindly set up a recycle bin for those slick, mindless pages. The ones that come to the house, my five year old grabs up and hoards. So, I put them to use and read to her the descriptions and she picks out stuff for her friends. Once they become so tattered, I sneak them off to recycle world.
I am going cloth diapers with our third and last baby...due 12/21---woo-hoo!!!

Funny, I found myself breezing through an LL Bean catalog last night and wondered why I was so curious. It's not like I need another tote, but their canvas totes are the BEST and I love the mulberry with brown trim color combo. It would be better for my pocketbook if I clicked on your suggested link and ban all possibilities of unnecessary spending! That is, until I hop online.

Ooooh, Dara, I'm just reading your comment about cloth diapers. What are the logistics behind such a decision? I think my mom had a diaper service, but what do you do with the dirty diaper? Do you have to rinse it out prior to sending it to the service? Or do you plan on washing the cloth diapers yourself? I am so interested, and I know I'll struggle with this decision when I have my own kiddo.

Bossy's mom is all about canceling all of her catalogues. So now she walks to Bossy's house and looks at her's.

God my table looks exactly like yours. I'm so sick of those catalogues, that's what the internet is for.

For those interested in cloth diapers; "pocket diapers" are the coolest thing. Here's just one link but you can Google others. My SIL uses them for her newest daughter and I wish I could remember the brand name off the top of my head. Anyway, here's the link:
