Here is this morning's very vegan breakfast of a chocolate chip pancake and scrambled tofu. That fluorescent yellow is the effect of dumping tons of turmeric into the frying pan. I also added dill and onion salt. I thought it was quite fabulous.
Fruit Bat, who I made it for, wouldn't allow the tiniest morsel past his lips. Even when bribed with a gumdrop the size of giant sea scallop.
Also. I am in awe of the Corelle plate pictured above. Kitty Cat threw one from way up here
It gashed the banister on its way down
and came to a twirling, banging stop on our wood floor.
With nary a scratch or a chip to the dish itself.
We use these for the kids, but you can find many different patterns (some that are even hip-ish) on Amazon. They're often on sale.
You should know that they stack so compactly they hardly require any cupboard space and are feather light if you have, like, carpel tunnel or a broken wrist.
I'll post a link in my left sidebar for anyone who might be interested.

Thanks! I may actually check out some of the Corelle plates -- I'm looking for new kid plates.

I am the only one in the family that likes tofu, so I never get it. Next time Fruit Bat nixes this delectable offering, send it my way!

I don't think I would let the tofu get past my lips either. ;)
We have the Corelle plates in "Memphis". I bought them last year after I decided that plastic plates were going to kill my kids.

Love. My. Corelle.

If Fruit Bat won't eat it can I have it?

What a yummy looking breakfast! And sheesh, I'm glad no one was standing underneath that plate when it was thrown. They'd probably have been killed! Those things are tough.

Um, I probably would have thrown my Corelle plate, too, if I had to eat tofu eggs. But, they look quite yummy in the picture.

Hmm . . . must investigate this titanium built Corelle you speak of . . .

I dunno about the tofu, but the pancake looks awesome. I *heart* chocolate chip pancakes

Glad to know they can be used as frisbees!

I love my corelle too. I've had it for about 100 years and it's never broken. I might actually browse for a new pattern as mine is a boring plain white!

I need plates like that one. I've been breaking one a week since Chris and I were married.

Awesome plates. I may look into getting some.

Love tofu. Correlware I have seen crack into thousands of shards. That was the 70's; this is now. I like the pattern on yours.
Sorry about the gouge on your banister, but it is an eternal reminder of your babes. Don't fix it.

Hmm - my mother swears by Corelle for the kiddies.
But what I really want? One of those huge gumdrops.

My mom still uses the Corelle plates that my brother and I used when we were tots. Bet they're cockroach-tough and can withstand atomic bombs too.

Baby F likes to yank Kid F's Corelle dishes out of the cabinet and I am always astonished nothing breaks...
Though I do hear that when/if they DO break it is a glass shard nightmare as opposed to a normal china plate.
