Camping with four other families in June on Whidbey Island: Cold.
Camping with four other families in June on Whidbey Island: Beautiful. In a cold sort of way.
Camping with four other families in June on Whidbey Island: Inspiring. Note to self--pack cot, airbed, camp stove, eggs, bacon, bread, butter, tablecloth with clips, silverware, a french press coffee pot and more beer for a better time without the moochy hangover.
Camping with four other families in June on Whidbey Island: Raucous.
Camping with four other families in June on Whidbey Island: Achey. Even with the borrowed Therma-rests.
Camping with four other families in June on Whidbey Island: Primitive. Kids really CAN have fun with nothing more than sticks, stumps and rocks. In a Lord of the Flies sort of way.
Camping with four other families in June on Whidbey Island: Bonding. There's nothing like hearing a kid from another tent yell, "Daddy, I have to go poopy!" to realize you're all in this together.
Camping with four other families in June on Whidbey Island: Worthy of repeating. In mid-August.

You're a far braver soul than I. I? Would have been at the nearest Holiday Inn.
So glad you had a good time though.

This post actually made me miss camping. I'm glad you had a good time and would repeat!

It's been so long since I've been camping, but I know the kids would love it. It does seem like so much preparation and expense though...but I'm a wimp, so ignore me.
Your campsite looked absolutely beautiful by the way. Good for the soul.

A camper I am not. However, for camping with four other families, I could easily become one. Sounds like a blast!

It's been forever since I've been camping, but the Texas heat keeps me from enjoying it all that much.

Yeah, I like camping. I admit it.

Oh, we did this last June and I totally get it. I was chilled the entire time, but it really was lovely and I was sad when it ended.

I would love to go camping, and the kids would love it too. Maybe I will go when the kids are a bit older, when they can look after themselves, less work that way.

I would bring WAY too much of everything, but completely forget paper towels, toilet paper, soap and water. That's how I roll.
Sure looks beautiful there.
