Keeping on here: making appointments with a gastroenterologist, looking into bread machines with gluten-free settings, researching cookbooks and tentatively testing the GF fare that's out there...some of it great, some of it decent, some of it wretched.
Thank you to all the good people who've commented recently. All the sweetness coming in, all the sympathetic humming. It makes it easier somehow.
To amuse myself, I've been working on these*:

Oh, man. Love the shirts. Finding humor in this situation is important.

I love these shirts. I can think of other things that are punk ass chumps.

Just wanted to say how SUCKY it is that your family has to experience this.

'Punk ass chump' is about one of my most favorite phrases.
Sorry for the food distress but glad you can turn it into a little comedy :D

Wish I'd known about those shirts when dairy/soy allergies were grieving my #2 son (and me)!

Sorry to hear that Kitty Cat has Celiac. that sucks. A friend of mine has a 5 yr old son with it. She said that it was really hard for him at first but then he eventually realized that he felt really yucky when he ate gluten and he felt lots better when he didn't. Now he doesn't seem to care all that much when he can't eat the same things as his friends. So maybe this will get easier for Kitty Cat, and your family as time goes on. Wishing you the best!
