We got our hands on this recipe a few days ago and promptly made one for a school Thanksgiving party and one for home. We whipped up our cranberry crumble in less than 10 minutes, and we recommend that you give it a try, too. It's simple, easy and deliciously sweet-tart.
Here's what you need and how you do it
1 package fresh cranberries (you can use canned)
1-1/2 cups flour
1-1/2 cups oatmeal
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 cup melted margarine or butter
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Prepare cranberries according to package directions (usually one cup of water, one cup of sugar and cranberries simmering on the stovetop for 10 minutes).
Mix remaining ingredients. Press half of oatmeal mixture into an 8x8 or 9x9 pan. Spread prepared cranberries on top.
Sprinkle rest of the oatmeal mixture on top.
Bake 25 to 30 minutes, or until topping starts to turn ever-so-slightly golden.
This looks great...if only I could get cranberries...must check the market that sometimes has foreign foods!
I have actually done something like this using canned peaches...one time with apples that had been cooked in some sugar and cinnamon...
This one is so easy I forget about it...thanks for the reminder!!!
Happy Thanksgiving!!

hi...me again...happy holidays!!
by the way...i made this again the other day and turned it up a notch, so to speak. if you put a layer (mine was pretty thick) of cream cheese on the "crust" before the cranberries, it's enough to make everyone at the table moan a bit...in a good way!! delicious!!!
