Oh jeez, oh gosh, oh crap. We apologize in advance for giving you this recipe.
On the other hand, there's a good chance you already own a version of it. In which case, we apologize for reminding you these peanut butter chocolate bars exist. Because they are so good and so addictive you will eat the whole pan in one day and wonder why your jeans don't fit the next.
We didn't actually use peanut butter, because our son is highly allergic to it. Instead, we incorporated Sunflower Seed butter, which is fabulous in its own right. If you can, go ahead and use the real PB. Either way, these bars are rich, creamy, crunchy and heavenly.
We're sorry.
Rating: Truly 1/2 assed
Here's what you need and how you do it
1 cup (2 sticks) butter or margarine, divided
2 cups graham cracker crumbs
2 cups powdered sugar
2 cups peanut butter, Sunbutter or some other nut/seed butter
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
In a saucepan, heat 1 stick (or 1/2 cup of butter) over medium heat. When melted, add graham cracker crumbs, powdered sugar and peanut butter. Stir until well mixed and remove from heat.
Spread evenly into greased 8x8 or 9x9 pan.
In another pot or in microwave, melt chocolate chips and remaining stick of butter. Whisk together until smooth icing is formed. Spread over peanut butter layer. Refrigerate for an hour before serving. Then cut into squares.

Oh Yes! Since my son goes to a peanut-free school, we made them with Almond butter (and added a few drops of almond extract) and promptly wolfed down the whole pan in no time.
Addictive indeed!

My mother used to make peanut butter balls -- essentially this mixture, but I think with rice krispies mixed in for a bit more crunch instead of the graham cracker crumbs. There were then rolled in chocolate. The nice thing about them is that they are small (like a Swedish meatball), so it's easier to serve yourself just a few bites. On the other hand, you can just keep going back for one more tiiinnnny bite. And so on. Can't wait to try these. Perfect for my new diet. ;) Perhaps I'll make with soy butter for my son's nut-free school.

I've had this many times, but with corn syrup (that counts as a vegetable, right?) and cornflakes or rice krispies (which counts as fiber, right?) Thanks for posting this version - can't wait to eat it.

These sound delicious! Like others, I've usually had them with Rice Krispies, but the graham cracker version sounds divine!
Kinda reminds me of a recipe I have (somewhere!!) that uses graham crackers and butter, topped with coconut and sweetened condensed milk, baked, then topped with chocolate. I wish I could find the recipe card I seem to have misplaced. But I think I could fake it pretty accurately, it's just the graham/butter mix I'm not sure of the proportions on.

Thank you so much for the post. I'd like to try this at home but since I'm busy with my work, I'm not able to do this and tasted this different peanut butter chocolate with a twist of graham cracker crumbs.
Good Day.... :)
