This is amazing! I had grilled romaine for the first time last week. The only thing I did different was I added garlic to the romaine before grilling. It didn't even need any salad dressing! Can't wait to grill romaine again!


I have been seeing grilled lettuce everywhere lately. I definitely need to try it!

yum, i love grilled romaine!


We love grilled romaine and have been grilling it for about three years now. We use a simple homemade dressing: 1/4 cup olive oil, 1 tablespoon of Dijon, 1 tablespoon of red wine vinegar, some chopped shallot to taste, a little salt and pepper. I use the hand blender to emulsify it. We top ours with blue cheese and a sprinkle of the dressing. Fabulous!!

I've never had grilled romaine. This looks wonderful. Can I roast it in the oven if we aren't grilling out?

Haven't tried it roasted, but I can't imagine why it wouldn't work. If you do it, please come back and let us know how it went.
