A few rules: The prep has to be minimal. The recipes cannot contain a ton of ingredients. And no potato chip or tater tot casseroles allowed.
I have no formal culinary education (not even a lousy one-off class). I'm a Seattle home cook, writer and stay-at-home mom. I found myself spending so many hours in the kitchen each day trying to feed my family, I figured I should channel that into something creatively satisfying. And that is how Half Assed Kitchen was born.
Now, one Canon Rebel Xsi, a 50mm/1.8f lens and 150 recipes later, I'm doing my best to update this site several times a week with recipes I've made and enjoyed.
I hope you'll stick with me while Half Assed Kitchen evolves, hopefully gains more and more traffic and eventually takes over the world. (Joke).
